Profile on Tim Kent

Tim Kent

Ward

I am the Councillor for Whitchurch Park ward which is in the south of Bristol and represents parts of the communities of Hartcliffe and Whitchurch. Whitchurch Park has nearly 10,000 people residing in its 4500 houses.

Elections

I was first elected in 2006 taking the seat from Labour. I was reelected in 2010 winning by 59 votes in a ward which remains a close fight between the Lib Dems and Labour.

Work at the Council

At the Council House I sit on several committees. I am a member of the Development Control Central Committee, which decides on planning applications for the centre and west Bristol area. I also sit on the Councils Democracy Committee. I am one of the six councillors who make up Dundry View Neighbourhood Partnership.

I represent Bristol City Council at the Environment Agency where we work to protect properties from flooding.

In May I rejoined the Council’s Cabinet as Executive Member for Transport. Since then I have helped secure funding for Bristols three major transport projects.

Family

I live in Hengrove Lane, on the edge of Whitchurch, with my partner Sally, step children Joe and Sam and daughter Lucy who was born in 2009.
